I leave home every day by 6:15AM and don't return until 4:30PM or so. Buster stayed home by himself until he was almost a year old and then we got Maggie. I had to take my baby to daycare when she was only 3 months old when I had to go back to work. It can't be that bad for Buster & Maggie. Until they were pretty much house trained, they were confined to an area with tile. I still get some surprises but not many. I do come straight home or run only quick errands. I have a doggie door but I am still anxious to get home and check on them. DH works nights and sleeps all day but it's not the same as having someone at home with them. He only started working nights this past summer, before that he was home by 1:30PM so that wasn't too bad.
