I would go with the 3, I did the same thing and went up a size and I dont think it fits comfortably, I spent 80.00 on matching belt and leash and never use it... there are plenty of holes and it is quite adjustable... I went up one size and now have to use the smallest hole on the larger one and it fits weird!
