 Update to the Vet Visit
Hi Everybody!
Thank-you so much for your replies and opinions! I finally was able to get off early today to take my yorkie, Junsu to the vet. The vet said she has no idea what it is and recommended me to go to an animal dermatologist. I will make an appointment for Junsu this Saturday. I will update everyone about my findings. My vet told me that it is not a ringworm. She said that he will always have that black scale on his skin, but it's not detrimental to his health. I want to get rid of it so I am willing to do anything for Junsu. I hope it's not a permanent scar. It was my fault that he is in that state. The vet also said that his hair will never grow back. I wanted to cry when I heard that. If I had paid more attention to him then this wouldn't had happened.
I'm so sad. I'm such a bad fur mommy. How can I not notice such a big spot on his shoulder? Now, I have to double check my furbabies to make sure they are okay. Whatever money it takes to get his skin heal up is fine with me. It was my fault for not noticing it. Maybe if I caught it sooner, it wouldn't be like this. I just hate myself now. I'm so mad at myself. I didn't see it until I gave him a bath and saw the hairloss and black spot on his skin. The vet said it took awhile for the black spot to form so she was surprised that I didn't see it. I really didn't see it. I'm so blind.
I have a feeling that it is some type of fungus like what Shiloh B's yorkie has. The description is very similar. My Maltese doesn't have it so I don't know where Junsu would get the fungus from.
Shiloh B, is your yorkie's skin healing up with the fungus spray? Is hair growing back? Where did you get your anti-fungus spray from? My vet also called it a lesion too.
I don't think the lesion has to do with rabies shots. Could it? He had the rabies shot on June 28th, 2009 and now it's November.
it might be a bug bite too. There's this bug that keeps coming up from somewhere and I notice Junsu trying to eat it one day. I raised my voice to let him know that it's a "no-no". That bug might be poisonous. It looks like a grasshopper. After my apartment lease contract is up, I am moving out of here.
I will include pictures of the lesion. It's not very clear.
