I took Bailey to the vet yesterday and the problems I asked about. He said that he is pretty sure it's just behavioral and he guesses that he is acting this way because I am trying to spend less time with him and in his eyes I am his "mate". He thinks he is just getting upset about this and acting out. He told us to make sure that when he does snap at us to use a rolled up newspaper to correct him, just to hit the ground next to him to make him stop so that he doesn't start to think that he is the dominant "dog" in the house. He said it's best to make sure we can correct this problem now before a baby comes into the household so that the problem doesn't get worse. As far as the choking/coughing goes he felt his trachea and said it's possible that it may be getting weak but he doesn't suggest doing anything at this time. He said that when we do see him coughing to clap our hands so that he will pause and his airway will open again. He did notice that he is developing cataracts in his right eye though.

But that's to be expected, he will be 8 in April. So hopefully everything will start getting better, when people ask how he's doing I just say that I'm looking for a good doggy shrink! LoL!
