I think getting up in the night can definetely be an inadvertent learned behavior on their part. Mine both sleep in their own beds in our bedroom. They have a crate in our bedroom too and occasionally choose to sleep in there. They sleep through the night and only get up if one of us gets up to go to the bathroom or something. When I get up at 5:30, they accompany me to the bathroom, use the wee pads, then they go back to bed! Those little rats!! They look all snuggly in their beds when I come back to get dressed, and just look at me all sleepy eyed...whatta life!
