I think my dog has ringworm or a black bruise? Hi Everyone!
I'll be bringing my yorkie to the vet to get him checked up, but I want to ask for some advice before I do since I won't be able to take him until the end of this week. How come so late? My boss won't let me off since she needs me to work all this week. I probably have to take him Saturday.
Anyways, I gave my Yorkie a bath today and noticed a black round hairless spot near his shoulder. My friend thinks it's a ringworm, but I think it's a bruise. I took him to the vet on Sept 25th to do a fungassay dtm test and it tested negative. So he shouldn't have it since the test is negative right? I heard having ringworms is very contagious, but I checked myself and my Maltese and we don't have anything. This leads me to conclude that it is not ringworm. I felt the skin where the circular shape is located. The skin feels thick and it's raised up. Does ringworm makes the skin thicker?
Well, I think it's a black bruise. it looks black and there's no hair. The dead skin and hair is rubbing away. Will the hair grow back? I got animax cream and amoxi drops to give to my Yorkie. If it really is a bruise, I think I caused it by accidentally pulling him too hard when we were walking on the sidewalk. I think his shoulder scrapped on the sidewalk. I didn't really look at his skin. I looked at his legs and shoulders instead. He seemed fine since he got up and started to walk/run around again.
What does everybody here think? Bruise or ringworm? Well, no matter what it is, I will be taking him to the vet. Thank-you!
