We recently moved our love seat so the back faces the dining room. It's 31" high. By the second day, Roxy was easily jumping onto it. She is 7 lbs-11 oz & 10-1/2 high. So the 36 inches would be the shortest I would go w/fencing. If a yorkie saw something worth chasing on the other side, jumping 36" might not be to high to try for. Good luck with it.
