Besides the obvious things of health testing (remember anything that goes wrong genetically is always blamed on the stud), and making sure that your dog and the female are good representations of the breed. There are your responsibilities of being the stud owner:
Are you prepared to assist in the whelping?
Do you have a stud contract? A contract should be in writing and iron clad.
How much to charge for a stud fee?
Are you aware that you will be conducting the breeding and keeping the female in your home until the breeding is done.
Are you familiar with how to conduct a breeding?
Are you prepared to take any pups that aren't sold and possibly take back any pups that have been placed but, returned and the owner of the female can't.
