bless your heart. I had a Yorkie that did the same... even when she was 5 years old she did it... I honestly have NO clue why they would do that... never seen a dog that would poop or pee where they lay. She was on a tight schedule, she would be out all day even when we worked but in her crate at night some nights... it NEVER failed she'd go in it. I wish I could help but just wanted you to know that I have been there too
