Even one flea can wreak havoc, but if she is infested you can usually see them under the arms or around the eyes. You could try to brush her then turn her on her stomach, as they will retreat from the brush. This has worked for me in the past. I once took my Yorkie Tiki into a lock-boxed house and the place was just infested. It still makes me ill to think about it, as I did not notice till the next day and we slept together that night. When I looked at her in the morning she was covered in all different sizes of fleas, some of them were clear in color which I suspected were due to not have eaten because the house had been abandoned for a long time though the fleas were just breeding. It was horrible!
