I love dogs to bark. It's part of who they are and what they do. It's nice of them to warn us of outsiders. So we want them to be encouraged when it's invited. You just want Winston to stop when you say quiet. He can learn it. There are lots of ways. If you find it's a PITA to carry the coins/can then you may buy a clicker at Petsmart. That may be easier unless you have a few cans in different rooms. Be consistent w/ whatever you do. Keep us posted w/ how Winston is doing in a few weeks.
