Welcome and good luck. I just have to comment on this:" Well actually...I'm getting myself one and he's agreeing to it! lol." I just got a boston terrier to go with my yorkie and chi and it was a Christmas present from hubby. Technically I bought her his part of the present was agreeing to let me have another puppy in the house. He was raised that dogs do not belong inside.
