Hi and welcome to Yorkie Talk! It is wonderful that you have given Sunny a loving home. I know she appreciates you and will be a strong family member. My little Jillie turned 6 months old yesterday. She did not do the stairs at all in the beginning, she was too small. I carried her up and down the stairs. One day she decided she wanted to go upstairs by herself. She got part way up and stood there barking for me to come get her and carry her the rest of the way, which I did. The next day she started going all the way up and that was all there was to it. She still was not going down the stairs though. I continued to carry her downstair until she started going part way down by herself. Within a few days she was doing the whole up and down thing and has not looked back. lol As far as jumping is concerned, you should be watchful of that. Others have suggested ramps or stairs, a good idea. They are going to jump, but usually it is better to go ahead and put them on the floor if you are getting up and know they will follow you.
