My housebroken ones go whenever they want with doggy doors. I have a 6 yr old rehomed female that will not go through the doggy doors by herself. I have to place her directly in front of the door, then she'll go out. She goes @ 6am, 11 am 3 pm. 7 pm and 10 pm. The two puppies go @ 6 am, 8 am, 11 am, 3 pm, 5 pm 7 pm, 9-10 pm. I don't think two times a day is enough.
