My husband and I were talking last night about how our 2 dogs have it made. They are so spoiled.
We went out to dinner and I filled up on everthing else so I didn't eat my huge chicken breast. I brought it home to the "babies" They loved it.
Later I gave them both a lamb's ear to chew on. Of course, they fought over them. The other one looked so much better than what they had.
Our dogs live in a climate controlled home. They are always warm in the winter and cool in the summer. One sleeps in our bed with velour blankets,etc. (the other is too hyper and is crated at night, but he has nice soft towels that are changed every few days. They nap on the leather couches. They eat very well and get plenty of treats, and have oodles of toys. Their toys are all over my family room floor every evening when they get them out to play. I love to bring them new toys home because they get so exited.
Some children don't have it as good as our dogs. That is sad but true. Working for the school system, I see children who are neglected. Not abused, but not taken care of the way I took care of my children. Not even as well as I take care of my dogs.
