I don't know where you are trying to rehome them, like where you post an ad or anything.. But I know for example on craigslist.org pet section a lot of people look for the 'free' or cheaper rehoming fee prices to either breed for $$ or resell for $$ on other sites.
So it's probably a good sign that you have someone/s who turn away at your $150 price. Because honestly? That is a cheap rehoming fee.
The humane society here is about $200 to adopt as well as the county animal services shelter, and there are some really cheaper foster care type rescues but there is this other shelter that charges $300. So really you are doing good on the adoption fee you are asking. It's not so cheap that you could be potentially rehoming to a person who might not 'look' like they will be breeding or reselling or something bad (cuz they look for the cheaper adoptions), and it's not so expensive as most shelters too. |
