She ruined her own reputation by being shady.
I would talk to your bank and seek legal advice. If you put a stop on the check and you even sent her that info she had no reason to cash it. I would not pay anything yet until you get all the facts. The check cashing people might say anything to get their money. Good luck, and this is just so sad.
