He is so cute. I hope you can hang in there a little longer. It took a little over a year for my two to catch on but once they did, they really got it. It's like the light bulb went on one day and they said "oh I get it now". We reward with treats for a job well done. They run in the house so proud of themselves and looking forward to their treats. At first we wondered if they would ever learn but they did. Good luck.
