congrats on you new baby. You will need to potty train from the very beginning. You should figure out her signs of getting ready to potty and really focus on those. Keep treats handy when she goes on the pad and only on the pad. You would have a better chance if you crate train or have her in a small area gated off. This will make sure that she doesn't potty all over. You will need to take her often to the pad, especially once she wakes up, after eating, and during long periods of play.
I had to go back to gating mine off when I opened up the other half of the downstairs. It was just too big of an area all of a sudden and I found little presents. It took almost 9 mos before I felt comfortable with Hot Rod. Maggie picked up quicker, I guess because of Hot Rod. I did find a present not too long ago actually, but that hasn't in quite awhile. Good luck and you just have to watch like a hawk for the signs, treat when she does use the pad and be consistent. |
