I'm raising my nephew, he has been on ADHD meds since he was 5. He is now 14. We tried the adderal with him when he was around 8, he had what they call a intollerance to it. He got a weird tonge rolling thing and had terrible mood swings. We put him on Concerta and he has been ok with that. He also take generic ritilan 2 times a day on top of the concerta.

My new dr. wanted to try the Vyvanse, oh my god, what a mistake that was. This child turned into a horrible monster. He threw things in school, started swearing horribly, threatened people, etc. This was in 2 weeks. I took him off it myself, and told the dr. we were putting him back on the others.

Vyvanse is a longer lasting form of Adderal...so if you are having symptoms with that...chances are you'll have even more with the Vyvanse.

Good luck with what ever route you take.
