That protocol is okay, but at the same time, had they waited and bile acids tested first and found a shunt, the spay could have been done at the same time. So now if she has a shunt, she will have to have another abdominal surgery. Anyway, I would not just retest ALT in a Yorkie. Since it was high, a bile acids test should be done.
