I think the best thing for potty training is crate training! Plus it will be very beneficial to your dog to be used to a crate even after potty training for travel and safety reasons. My dogs are never in a crate in the house (they are all 5+ years old now) but when we go camping and traveling, they are very comfortable in them which is very nice!
