My experience was the same for previous pets: the folks that did the cremation offered an assortment of urns - but they were expensive "inexpensive" pieces of plastic. These are nice. If you had them on a shelf somewhere, you could take a nice urn when the time comes.
When it's time, I want my husband, myself, and all of our pets ashes mixed, then distributed. That way, we can all be together physically one last time.
It's good that you have a fence around the pool now. They're hideous - but they can save immense heartache.
