I had an issue with Moses a month back. Soft stools. I took him off his food entirely and gave him boiled white rice and chicken twice a day. I did this for 3 days until he was having mostly normal movements. I also started giving him about 1/4 c plain, organic yogurt. The vet also said he could a little, little bit of pepto for no more than 2 days, 2x a day. He was fine after 4 days and I gradually added his regular food to the chick and rice. We watch him like a hawk and give him very little other than his regular food as we have found he has a sensitive stomach. He still gets the yogurt every other day. So far, knock wood, he has been fine. I will agree with a vet visit if, after a few days on this diet, he does not improve. |
