It's best to put the hair in a top knot, then put on the bow. It's really a matter of personal preference what kind of attachment you want. I personally like bands for Ladymom type bows.
If you're not familiar w/attaching bows, I would go w/french barrettes. It stays on fairly well & easy to clip on & off.
Mine didn't like me fussing w/their hair either. Keep doing it daily & give her treats afterwards. She'll associate that getting pretty ='s yummy treats. She'll get used to it in no time. If she does well on counters, do it there. Mine are used to my lap.
