It's not surprising that a vet would say that.
i'm not going to say it's a bad thing to go, but it isn't for us.
Actually, I'm more comfortable taking Ellie to people parks for some reason.
I think it's because there is less doggy-disease present.

With the yucky water that most of the dogs play in and the squirrels and toads, etc, and the bugs, and other dogs who may not be UTD of vaccines...no thanks. If I ever took Ellie to a place like that, I would only be comfortable if she was current on DHLPP, rabies, bordatella, heartworm meds, flea and tick meds, possibly lymes vaccine and a good dewormer, and fecals often. But there is no way that I'd want to put all that stuff in her little body.
