I'm so very sorry for your loss and can't imagine the pain you must be going through. I love my dogs with all my heart and as I'm writing this, my 4 month old Morgan is sleeping on my lap. He's never chewed on power cords, but that doesn't mean he won't ever. Thanks for sharing your story and reminding all of us, that accidents can and will happen, no matter how careful we are. They can get into trouble in the blink of an eye and you did everything you could, so please don't blame yourself. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
