He is very jealous of Tommy the new pup and hates him. He glares at us when we give the pup any kind of attention. He will be on the chair and suddenly growl and jump down and run and jump on the pup and put him down on his back. He does not hurt him though so we dont interfere.Tommy is over three months and a good size.Tommy does not poop in his bed.

In addition, a dog does not "get jealous". Dogs are very territorial and can be very diligent about
Resource Guarding. All the behavior that you have mentioned above is not about jealousy. It is about guarding their resource, whether it be you or the chair or the furniture and to establish it's role as the alpha. This is natural behavior and has everything to do with establishing a hiearchy (sp?) in the pack. Please do not confuse it with jealousy. Otherwise you will not be able to properly handle it if it gets out of control. Because you really should be establishing the roles of each member of the pack, not your other dog.
And to answer the other question, a dog forgives because he forgets. A dog lives in the moment. What ever you are dishing out in the moment is what a dog accepts.
