I know how you feel. A few years ago my Abby was the same age and size as yours is now. I really did not want to have her spayed but after many nights worring about it, I chose to have her spayed.

1st Make sure lab work is done 3-5 days prior to surgery, not the morning of surgery.

2nd Alot of Vets insist that they stay overnight at the vets after surgery. Do not agree to this. Mine suggested it but he said "knowing me I know this is not an option !"

3rd Make sure you do not have to get up early for anything (like work) the day after her surgery. I slept in my office with Abby in a bed on the floor next to me. I set the alarm clock every 2 hrs so I could just "check on her and then went right back to sleep, and the next day I was at home all day with her. Abby had no problems after her surgery and 2 days later she was good as new.

4th Have faith and trust in your vet. I did.
