Well in my family, all our pets have been chipped. We have no complication on our pets (german shepard dogs, siamese, siamese mix, and a mix breed cat).
They have been with us ranging from 10 years old to 5 years old. So I feel confident they are good things to have even if they move a little as long as your pup is still ok.
