Our Yorkie is 7 years old. We have had him since he was just a little puppy. Lately I've notice a few things going on with him and was wondering if anyone had any advice for us. First, he coughs and chokes a lot. I asked the vet about it and she checked his trachea and said it was find. It's really scary when he does that because there's nothing I can do for him. It has started to happen a lot more often lately. Which leads me into the bad temper part. For some reason our Yorkie has decided that it's okay to potty in the house. He's had accidents before, but this is really unusual for him. He knows that he does wrong because he will go and hide in the closet. Well, Saturday night he was hiding in the closet and I went to get him. I was talking nice to him because I could see him shaking and his lip moving. I wasn't fussing at him at all. When I went to grab him he bit me! So I ended up just leaving him there. Well, Monday afternoon I get home from work and my poor little baby is outside on the porch in the kennel. He had pottied in the house again and my husband had tried to go and pick him up when he was hiding under the desk this time and he bit him and made him bleed. I don't understand why he is doing this. He knows he is doing wrong and if we try and say bad dog, he just snaps and starts growling and will bit if you put your hand too close to him. I have been trying to pay less attention to him lately because we are trying to have our first child and I'm not sure if this is triggering this temper tantrums or not. Also, we have an outside cat that has been in the family for two years now. He comes in the house when it's raining. It's been raining a lot over here lately, and I'm not sure if maybe that could also be why our Yorkie is acting out. And advice that anyone has would be greatly appreciated!
