I use a doggie door in a glass insert for sliding glass doors. It works well. It was originally purchased for larger dogs, but it doesn't really deter the Yorkies at all: they just get a corner to move and slide on through.

If yours is a small Yorkie and you don't ever plan on a larger dog, you may be better off with a door designed for cats: they're smaller and lighter, offering less resistance.

I've thought about putting one in my bedroom door: I sleep with the door closed, and they're constanting wanting to go in/out, depending on what's going on in the rest of the house.
