I think currently she's just a hair over four pounds. The vet is also going to pull her left over baby teeth which there aren't many of as far as I can tell.

Anyone have advice for what I should have on hand when I bring her home? I'm going to buy a onesie to keep her in because I just don't think I could stand to put her in a cone. I've read you're supposed to wake them up every few hours or something during the first night, is this true? Or do I just let her sleep it off?

Any advice would be appreciated! This is the first time I've ever had a dog spayed.

My Maggie May was just about 3 lbs when she was spayed. She was in some pain and was crying some. Once we got the okay to give some pain meds she quieted right down and went to sleep. I don't remember being told to wake them every few hours??? If she is still and quiet, I would probably just leave her.

Click on the link below my signature for an alternative to the plastic cones. I wish I had these when Maggie was spayed. She peed right thru her onesize. lol.

good luck and please let us know how she does.
