He won't get all the nutrients he needs from chicken and rice alone, so definitely start mixing in good quality puppy food. If you use kibble, you might need to moisten it with water, or some chicken broth because he is so young.
In the future you might try giving him cooked/canned pumpkin (w/no spices added), for diarrhea and also for constipation and other digestive problems.
