it sounds like a case of empty stomach; you want to give a late dinner or early breakfast to avoid the emptying of the stomach; this will eventually lead to gastritis; my dog had that and i had to rush her twice to the ER due to vomiting blood. what food are you feeding him and how many times daily. it's best to feed 4 small meals daily for dogs with upset stomach; try boilded chicken and rice; if not gerber baby food which can keep him hydrated; you want to make sure he's hydrated when he's vomiting; good luck
