I like the Royal Canin Puppy kibble because it is very small and easy for these little ones to chew and digest. All of my dogs are on it and no one has a weight problem.

I have a little girl that I'm hoping will get to at least 4.5 to 5 lbs. She is 3 lbs. 11 oz. now and not quite 6 months. I feed twice a day and in addition to the Royal Canin, I add Show Stopper to her food -- just a small amount, but it has additional calories and other nutrients.(You can get it at Petco). She also gets roasted or boiled chicken (white meat usually) in the middle of the day as a little snack. As a treat I also give a few Cheerios, blueberries, and small bits of carrot.

Good luck with your little girl -- and you are so right, being healthy is the most important.
