I don't know why this is written so much, but it's not true, as Mardelin stated in the ninth post, "The standard reads: Not To Exceed 7 pounds.... " The YTCA is the mother club for the Yorkshire Terrier and sets the standard, so anything you read anywhere else may not be accurate. For more information on the correct standard for yorkies see:

To the OP, I agree with the others, your Yorkie may have a late growth spurt, Joey also grew quite a bit after 6 months. I think I would skip the carrot, there isn't much nutrition in it, and puppies need all the nutrition they can get. Snacks are better after they eat their food rather than before.
