Default Toads must taste pretty bad!

Last night I took Reesie out for her late potty and since it was warm out, if 59 can be called warm, she saw a small toad on the porch and before I could stop her she pounced and gave it a little bite. Her reaction was sudden and violent, shaking her head back and forth and really hating what wound up in her mouth. The toad had the white foam mucous on it and there was quite a bit in her mouth.

We rinsed her mouth out and she licked a damp cloth for quite a while. I checked and I'm pretty sure it was Fowler's Toad, common here in Michigan. A web site said that all toads are poisonous to dogs so called the vet and they disputed that, saying she would be ok, just do what we had already done. She threw up once last night and we were watching her carefully but she seems fine.

I know the southern states have somes poisonous toads but was wondering if anyone else around here has had a similar toad experience with their little one.
