And YES...the AKC does in fact recognize and register the chocolate yorkie. It is the YTCA that does not recognize, nor accept the off colors.

Here is additional information about what the AKC states:
American Kennel Club - Breed Colors and Markings
Disqualifications:
Any solid color or combination of colors other than blue and tan as described above. Any white markings other than a small white spot on the forechest that does not exceed 1 inch at its longest dimension.
The post listed looking for an AKC Chocolate yorkie. AKC states in the DQ above that any solid color (as described in my previous post) is not recognized.
