I am new to this site and found it searching for info on breathing problems in Yorkies. My special girl was 10 yrs old and ended up in the emergency vet hospital on oxygen. They treated her for a upper respiratory infection and the thoracic ultrasound showed she had a collapsed mainstem bronchus. From all my research it did not look good, especially with her age. The cartiledge breaks down as they age and can be minimally managed with medication. The surgery option is risky (only my non-medical opinion) I lost my special girl after 2 months of treating her for her respiratory problems. I wish you luck with your yorkie.
