For those of you who have purchased from a pet store and then learned it was a puppy mill dog, could you imagine not having owned your baby? It's not his fault how he was brought into the world, if we don't save them and love them, who will. I often worry about what would have happened to my Maddie (not puppy mill) if we had not gotten her. What if she went to a bad home??? Once you love them, it's hard to imagine. A lot of rescue groups also say not to by a "designer" dog, that there are too many animals already here waiting to be adopted. I agree there are alot waiting, but if we adopt pound dogs, what happens to the "designer" dogs. Let's face it, the bottom line is that all breeders are in the business for the money. If there were no money in it, they wouldn't be breeding their dogs. I say you are not a bad person and did not make a bad decision on choosing the dog you chose. There may be an unknown reason behind it. Maybe your little baby NEEDED you.. Yes, you may have a higher risk of a genetic problem, but really, anything can happen to any of our little babies at any time, regardless of where they were purchased. Hope I havent offended anyone, but we have to face the facts. Puppy mills exist because there is money in it. You not purchasing this puppy is not going to shut them down. In my mind, you are saving this baby from a fate unknown.

true you are saving that baby as well as opening up new spots for new puppies. It won't end with one person but it CAN end with a whole nation. You have to start some where. In my opinion I wouldn't purposely buy from a puppy mill ever. I have been in pet stores and they are so cute and I want to save them all but you can't and yes you will fall in love but when your spending hundreds on vet bills it can be overwhelming.
