Do you want a prescription food or something that you can get at the pet store? Depending on how well he does, an rx diet may be important.
Purina HA can be used, but it will probably run about $3 a pound. Yes, some people here would, "Never feed Science Diet," but unfortunately one day the sad reality may hit...there is no choice, especially if homecooking isn't an option. I know I hated the though of feeding rx food too, but one day I was backed into a corner and needed to try it. In our case it didn't work, but it does for some. There are lots of foods that can be used for mild pancreatitis issues. What % of fat does your vet want you to stay below? Do they want you giving medium chain triglycerides or will any fat source do?
