WELL the vets office redeemed themselves- she called me back- maybe she could tell I have been a crying mess
she felt bad the way she left things on the phone- like she was saying- yes we are unreliable. So she called the manufacturer of the testing device (or whatever) they use. They sent her a chart on what is normal for their tests. Layla's lipase run high- they just do- so this 5000 isn't alarming anyone there because a) she runs high for her (even when done in the outside lab) b) their numbers tend to come out higher.
ANYWAYS- as per Crystal's suggestion- we are going to just skip the outside lipase and go right for the Spec cPL at this same lab which is a better marker for pancreas.
No one there seems terribly worried- i assume they know what they are talking about- they are such WONDERFUL people and honestly love Layla so I know they are doing what is best.
I should hear back tomorrow for the Spec cPL- Crystal what is normal for that test do you know?
