What is the texture of your puppies hair? I've heard wolly haired yorkie's hair tangle more easily. Maybe a good conditioner will help. If grooming is too much of a trouble, might think of cutting it short.
Let me know what you did. Curious to find out. Mine all have silky hair and I never had a major problem with tangles(unless I forget to brush my yorkie who has a the full coat for over 3 weeks)
