[Doodlebug]

I hope someone can help me. A local pet store is having a Halloween photo contest and I wanted to enter a photo but I don't really have a good one. I picked an older one out but I want to delete the bad background.

Can anyone help me fix this photo? I would like to either make the picture a "circle" around the little flower rug to cut out most of the ugly background wood, or even better, cut out around the flower shape and cut out the ugly wood entirely.

Thanks if anyone can help me. I have to get the photo entered before 6pm today.
