The D40 is an awesome camera, I loved it! It's that I didn't love the lens issue...that really did bug me and I think it'd bug you eventually too. If you wait and can get something a bit more - you will never outgrow the camera, unless you go pro  .
That Nikon Breny got looks great too...I just don't know enough about that particular one to say as much. That one looks to be btwn the D40 and the D90 (but much more toward the D90); the 18-105 lens she mentioned is AWESOME - it's a VR lens and has a great, versatile range. |
I thought pretty much the same thing on the price that one place advertised.

And no, that's not something I would be comfortable knowingly doing.
I kept coming back & re-reading the posts on this thread, trying to see which sounded the best for me. If I were to buy right now, I would be seriously looking at the one Breny got. I
really don't need a new camera, but I cannot get any actions shots or get a quick shutter reaction so I miss a lot of great shots. For example, I just posted a thread in the picture forum of Jordy - they're ok pictures but he's standing still or laying down in all of them.
