Well, I'm glad you kept an open mind, and one more thing I learned from Yorkietalk that no one has mentioned yet, is that dogs can get an STD from mating, even if it's the first time for both. Experience breeders who stud out their dogs, always insist that the females have been tested. The only way I would consider studding my dog is if I really believed that he was an excellent example of the breed, and I thought it was more important to have his genes out there, then of the importance of keeping his as a pet. Breeders make huge sacrifices, and your dog will change, if he bred and if isn't neutered. Joey was barely 4 pounds when he was neutered, and has stayed a little boy instead of a raging hormone driven adult. If you decide to neuter, make sure your vet has experience with small breeds, special anesthesia is used for toy breeds. By the way, the shelters are filled with mixed breeds, no one should be adding to the problem.
