This is sometimes true for the larger breeds, but Yorkies should be free-fed or fed a minimum of two meals a day. Not all vets are specialist in all breeds, and it's best to go to the specialists of yorkies to answer that type of question. Smaller breeds are much more likely to experience hypoglycemia, and one meal a day may not be enough. Joey would throw a fit, if I would try that!
