Hubby & I took the trio to PetSmart's Howl-O-Ween costume party tonight. I had in mind just to go as an outing with the fur kids to see all the other dogs in costume and get the free goodie bags they give out. Since I really didn't buy any new costumes for them this year, I decided to dress them in clothes they already had. Toby had a Quarter "Bark" football jersey he got last year for his birthday, and last month at one of my visits to Walmart I saw they had a referee shirt and a cheer captain dress so I picked them up for Lucky and Halle. So, not really costumes, but I thought what the heck; close enough. I put curly ribbons in Halles' top-knot as her "pom-poms", tied a small stuffed football toy on a string around Toby's neck & also padded his shoulders
, and I just happened to have a whistle for Lucky the "ref" to where around his neck.
Well lo and behold, they were a hit and took 1st Place in the "costume" contest! There were quite a few cute little dogs in costume, but I think what really clinched our win was the "team" effort.
