What are you feeding him? I had years of trouble when I used to feed kibble, but now that I am homecooking, they always want food.

But also remember that they have appetites, just like we do. On days when he is more active, he will want to eat more and on lazy days, he will eat less. Heat and cold also plays a part. It takes the body more energy to keep the temperature up than down. So, on hot days they may not want to eat as much and on cold days, they will always seem hungry. It just has to do with energy requirements.

You don't have to worry so much about the food though. A dog will eat if he is hungry. Always. That is the way they are programmed. However, if he is losing weight and lacks energy, you need to have him checked out by a vet.

So, weigh him today and weigh him again next week (you are probably weighing him anyway) and compare the results. He should have put on weight, but I am not sure how much. Maybe someone else here knows.
If he loses weight, take him to the vet. If he puts on weight, perform a little happy dance and stop worrying
